The Archaeological Park of Elea-Velia, also known as the Velia excavations, is one of the most important cultural attractions in Cilento. Not as well known as they deserve to be, the archaeological excavations at Velia are one of the main testimonies to the Greek settlements in Magna Graecia. Home of the Eleatic school of philosophy, with Parmenides and his two disciples Zeno and Melissus of Samos.
